I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each band member from the bottom of my heart, including Steve Terry, Chris Simmons, Kevin Johnson and others along the way. Steve Terry approached me this time last year in an attempt to form a new group from a pool of musicians I consider family. I was mutually interested in arranging a collection of music and a body of work 12 years in the making. Enter Chris, then Darrin and what initially developed into entertainment for my wedding rehearsal dinner as “Jeffrey’s Band” has developed into “Scott Jeffrey’s Band” and something special and well beyond expectations. Conceiving a song is one thing. Nurturing the song, feeding the song and watching it grow and develop is another. Our process is very similar to that of Dave Matthews Band’s or Billy Joel’s. There’s a canvas, then paint, then art, then interpretation. sjB is family and all are individuals I respect as musicians and people. This music wouldn’t have a backyard to play in, a drum, guitar or bass line if it wasn’t for the Uncle Darrin’s, Tony’s or Steve’s of the group. So, special thanks to ‘da boys who write and add their own parts to every piece of music I bring to the table and to my beautiful and brilliant wife who writes 90% of the wonderful harmony you hear. We all have stories to tell. Keep listening for new and other stories written through the eyes of other sjB brethren including Carol Anne’s “Purple Monkeys.” There’s much, more and many more behind the music than meets the eye.
