Happy New Year! Well, well, well. Thus begins Scott Jeffrey’s Band’s junior year. Hindsight is 20/20 and it’s been an amazing year; 189 performances. It’s been a year of much change. We’ve seen the arrival of my beautiful boy Timmy and Carol Anne’s return as special guest! We’ve featured and collaborated with some incredible musicians including Lenoir-Rhyne Percussion Program’s Rick Cline of Hickory, Charlotte saxist Scott McCloud of the Scott McCloud Group, Atlanta saxist Jason Passmore, Richmond guitarist Josh Walker on mandolin, bassist Darrell Griffin of Asheville, percussionist Matt Decker of Hickory, percussionist Charles Smith of the Western Piedmont Symphony Orchestra, bassist Michael Cline of Charlotte and, of course, my good friend and Scoot percussionist Phill Kirby. In May, we hired drummer Daniel Flynn of Gastonia. Sadly, we saw long-time bassist Steve Clamp give the real world another heave ho. But, in September we hired former Henry Hoo bassist Micah Davidson of Charlotte, thus bringing balance to the force. We released our first album in July and thanks to the love and support of family, friends and fans, finished production on our studio and second album in December. The studio album was tracked by L&N Production’s James Little, the Pritchard Group’s Nathan Pritchard and Old House Recording Studio’s David Black of Gastonia. The album was mixed by David Black and mastered by Studio B’s Dave Harris at Reflections in Charlotte. Old House has been featured in Mix Magazine. Both album’s feature several special guests including Carol, Scott, Phill, Rick, Steve, drummer Darrin Harwell and bassist Kevin Johnson. We’ve been fortunate enough to work with several reputable booking agencies including East Coast Entertainment. We got to meet and perform with some wonderful acts including Cowboy Mouth, Jupiter Coyote and Will Hoge. To date we’ve performed with Nashville’s Will Hoge, Jupiter Coyote, Andy Griggs, Molly Hatchet, Georgia Satellites, Acoustic Syndicate, Cowboy Mouth, The Recipe and Maverick Records’ Wil Seabrook. Our mailing list has grown to nearly 1,000 subscribers. The website got a face lift. To make a long story short, it’s been another year we won’t forget!

Turning our attention to 2003, we’re preparing for the release of our studio album and all the accompanying celebration. The band heads to Atlanta in March for A.P.C.A.’s National Campus Activities Conference. You’ll hear a new body of work from me in 2003 including “September Song,” “Epiphany,” “The Blues,” “Golden Arrow,” “Purple Monkeys,” “Fool,” “Nerl,” “Hey Love,” “Testing,” “Kiss the Frog,” and “Eat Your Vegetables.” We’re all excited about what 2003 holds for us. Help us spread the holy word of Scott Jeffrey’s Band to the masses! What each of us do for a living depends so much on the exposure and support of the band by those who attend performances and purchase the CD’s and other merchandise. On behalf of the band, thanks for all your support!
